The Watertown Area Boxing Club will be moving to 759 Starbuck Avenue in Watertown, NY. Sugar Ray Robinson fought right here in Watertown, NY at the soon to be new location of the Watertown Area Boxing Club in the late 1930’s and early 1940’s.

Sugar Ray Robinson is often referred to as the greatest boxer of all time. Out of 200 fights, Robinson won 173 and 108 of those fights were won by KO’s.

Sugar Ray went on to became the first boxer in history to win a divisional world championship five times. Sugar Ray beat his opponent, Carmen Basilio, in 1958 to reclaim the middleweight championship.
ESPN featured a series called "50 Greatest Boxers of All Time" in 2007, and named Robinson the top boxer in history.
